For 400 hp about.... you need a Turbonetics T3/T04E High Flow Turbo. I'm not 100% sure on the trim levels... but if you go to a shop, they can definatly help you out with that. Or search around and look at www.240sxforums.com

he has no idea what hes talking about! there are many KA24DET cars out there! look around harder at 240sxforums.com 400+ HP isnt going to be a practical car especially a 400+ HP KA. if you can afford it go for the SR theres plenty more aftermarket out there! 250ish HP in a 240 would be plenty for the street! as for the cat back anything around 3in with little to no restriction is great for a turbo car! I have an RB20DET (295hp at the wheels) in mine and can squash an SR with the same level of mods. The only car I have been beat by so far was a KA24DET running 11lbs of boost with pistons, rods, headgasket, 370cc SR injectors and stand alone fuel managment (347hp at the wheels). He spent a crapload more money than I did and could barely pull away from me. Our garage also has a KA24DET running a T04B on center with 4.5 lbs. We are about to put bigger injectors and an E-manage in it so that we can run about 7 or 8 lbs. Any more than that and you need pistons and a headgasket and anymore than about 11 lbs you need rods! Anything past 5-6psi and you will need more fuel like a fuel pressure riser. Anything past 8 psi and you will need injectors and fuel managment. And at that point you will have about 350 at the wheels. A 400hp KA would need forged pistons and rods, Alot of head work, an O-ringed block, a larger throttle body and MAF, huge injectors and Stand alone fuel managment. You would also need ARP bolts ALL the way though! and it would not be streetable or reliable! 400hp??? Go SR or RB! RB will be less parts to add but harder to find the parts!

Dude I can't find it. I changed my mind though. I decided to save up my dinero and have a engine swap. I found this place called Import Power House through a friend of mine here in Phoenix Arizona. He told me that he has the hook up at this place. I'm planning on getting a Red Top SR20DET-(S13). At this time I'm barely getting started by searching for parts that I'm going to be putting on my 240. You know suspension and drive train. I'm planning on building this car from the inside out!!!!! Thanx anyways for the help.

In order to achieve 400 at the wheels these are some types of turbo's you can look in to(housing size is up to you, remember the bigger the exhaust housing is then the higher in the rpms your boost will come in)-TD06-20G, Gt2835(R or Pro), Gt3037, T04E/B.
Nismoron- you said that rb will need less parts but are harder to find. You forgot to add that they are more expensive especially for the RB20. I just sold my HCR32 because I was tired of not being able to get the stuff I needed and when I was finding it the price was too damn high. So now I have a 180 with a SR in it and it is coming along nice. Also there is a new style of koki lights in Japan. They look like the RX8 tail lights: ![]() Last edited by Pearlrps; 05 Aug 2004 at 11:19 am. |
