LS7 Camaro

Ok i plan on doing a project soon (not sure how soon) but i want to get a crate LS7 and put it in a newer camaro. my plan is to buy a v6 camaro for little to nothin if i can and hopefully match the two up and have a pretty cool car. i wanted to see what you guys think of the idea? im thinking it would cost me 5-6 grand for the car 15 for the motor and im planing on about 5 -6 in mods on other things so it would cost about 25 to 27 grand to do

id definetly be a cool car with a LS7 in it, but what kind of mods are you thinking of doing to it? I read that the motors cant handle boost too well, i would say go with a 572 and supercharge it

thats a good idea but i dont know if the engine bay would be able to fit a bigblock

Not without a LOT of modification. He's gonna have enough of a problem fitting a LS2/LS7 in a newer body.

Unless it's a first, second or third gen, you ain't fittin a big block in it.

yea i didnt think about the fitting of the motor, but if hes gonna spend that much he could do that

yea all you your guys eggin him on for that big block.... i laugh...plus that engine would weigh so much it would have a huge downforce on the front of the car

A motor plate or new motor mounts and a nice 4"+ cowl hood. I wouldnt call that alot.

ok im not gonna go with the 572 first off it wouldnt fit without a ton of modifications to the engine bay and second i would have to beef up the suspension and i dont have the money to do that i have about 30 grand and it fits into my budget if i go with the ls7 also i think it would look better

Thats a factory firewall, there is only slight trimming on the bottom drivers side firewall for header clearance. Just take a look at Jon Moss' 00 ZL1 572 CI Camaro . The only problem with the tight clearance is you have to drop the K member if you ever have distributor problems.

Anywho just showing it has been done. Just look at the Street Classes youll see BBC 4th Gen's. Id say go with a built bored and stroked LT1 with a blow through carb and slap some forced induction on it. Big Block power might be too much for you to handle :thumpup:
