I suggest the RB20 in the S13... It is a MUCH easier swap. Costs a third as much. Is as fast as the 25 (revs easier). And is much more friendly to upgrades. The RB25 ECU is not programamble and to tune it you have to use stand-alone fuel management. you are very limited in what you can do with out it.
The 26 will need the RB25 tranny and will need to be converted to large single turbo to clear the steering shaft in the S13. Figure $3500 for the RB26, another $1000-$1500 for the RB25 tranny and oilpan, $500+ for an exhaust manifood and anotehr $1000+ for a large single turbo and you are talking some serious cash. Not to mention the $ it wouldd take to convert it from dual MAFS to single or a dual MAF feed for the large single turbo.
Just do the RB20. I had about $3000 in mine (including the engine) and ran a 13.7 at 105mph spinning tires. My friend in a S14 w/ RB25 had about $5500 in his(including engine) and only ran a 13.5 at 105mph. His had the GReddy intake and aHUGE HKS front mount.
Since I have added a turbo from an RB25 and some 444cc GT-R injectors and retuned my factory ECU to handle them. I havent run it at the track yet. I immediatly blew the cluch out the first night I had the boost up!
Oh and for the RB20 swap, there is NO fabricating needed except for a throttle cable bracket. I bent some aluminum bar from Home Depot. And however you choose to make your intercooler mount and piping. You can make or buy a premade downpipe. Thas about it. With custom mounts like from Unstable or Tophat, it just bolts in. The McKinney mounts are WAY too expensive and are kinda crappy.
