Default governors

i just got a 1997 pontiac grand prix gt and i heard it comes with a governor that wont let me do more than 104, does anybody know if its true and if it is, is there a way to remove it with out spending a ton of money.

have you tried going 104 to see if it's got the governor?
i don't know much about grand prixs, but i'm pretty sure you can get a chip for it, or get your ecu chipped to take off the limiter for less than 2 bills. But if you don't even drive that fast, then what's the point?

My girl has a 1997 gpgt coupe. They are governed to 107. The only way to remove the governor is to chip it. I looked into it but it costs around 400 bucks. And you have to run premium cause it messes with the timing.
