hey...im stationed in okinawa, japan and i own 1991 180sx ca18det... im looking into getting a boost controller and i guess what i need to know is... how much can i boost safely with a stock turbo ...right now im boosting around 12 or 13 pounds (.9 psi over here).. i have some stuff done to it but im trying to aviod things like motor swaps and bigger turbos...
any suggestions? i appreciate it peace |

12-13 pounds is .9 bar. That is about all the boost you can run on a stock CA turbo. It is probably already running out of it's efficiency range. Stock CA turbos are VERY small! |

I dont have much experience with CA18's. We only have one car running one, and it is still stock except for the intake and exhaust.
My understanding is tha tthe first upgrade is stronger head bolts. On the CA the stock ones stretch and cause some headgasket blowing problems. Just what I have read. Dont know for sure. |
