I'm debating whether to put a 350 or a 383 in my 95 full size gmc. Money IS an issue and im wondering if there is going to be a big difference in performance and price, cause i will need to rebuild it then make it fast. Can you guys help me out and let me know what would be better?

You can get mad amounts of tourqe out if a 383 stroker. They should be pretty cheap to build as long as you already got a 350 block.

http://www.online-racer.com/chevy_383_stroker.htm<---- Make sure to see if they have the Vortec heads included if not get them and might see 400HP. Worth a few hundred more.
http://www.revolutionaryperformance....t%20blocks.htm http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/default.asp <---cheapest if you can build the short block yourself. Ive bought many things from them , cranks, rods , pistons- real good company. PS I can go on with more places but need to know how much money you want to spend and how much power, reliability.

Alright you primitive screw-heads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart! Last edited by nx468; 13 May 2005 at 01:20 pm. |

I would really like to rebuild an engine for around $1000 if thats possible i think it definently is cause for now i just want the v8 and i want it to work but i want upgradeability (if thats a word) so that later i can upgrade it, but i still wont have a lot of upgrade money. I'm only 15 and make $7 an hour so i wanna know which engine is the best to make fast with looooow money.

I'd get a used GEN III motor and put it in thier
4.8L 5.3L 5.7L<--- LS1 ( 346) 6.0L found in silverados and f-bodys thier just about the same price as any other motor. except these are pretty beefed up stock and have a ton of aftermarket for really good gains ![]()
