Koenigsegg CCR is world's fastest


On February the 28th 2005, at 12.08 local time, the Koenigsegg CCR broke the production road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 388 (387.87) km/h at Italy's Nardo Prototipo proving ground.
Filmator documented the record attempt. Filmator is a Swedish film crew that currently is making a documentary about the Koenigsegg Company for Swedish television.

The official Test Report is issued by Prototipo, acting as a third party verificator and is forwarded to the Guinness Book of Records for processing.

Other interesting data from the Nardo test

Max temperatures (in degree Celsius) during 40 seconds of full throttle: Ambient temperature: 8, Tires: 64, Engine coolant: 91, Intake air after intercooler: 64, Gearbox oil 94 degrees, Engine oil 112.

68 litre of fuel at the start of the test.

Car Set-up:
Standard road car fuel, Standard CCR Michelin tires, Standard ride height of the car, standard engine configuration, standard wheel geometries, standard gearbox, standard clutch, standard brakes, standard over boost pressure from the superchargers.

Test safety equipment:
Roll cage, 4 point safety belts, Fire extinguisher system, logging for data collection.

It´s not the fastest road car in the world.
The fastest is this The Dauer Porsche 962.
Based on the 956/962 race car that blitz the race tracks in from the early 80´s up to ´94, it was developed for the road by the Dauer race team that won LE Mans in ´94 with it.
It spits out a nice 730hp.
Top speed in the Ehra-Lessien 9Km test track: 404Km/h -> 250Mph

yeah, i saw a letter in the new evo (new in the US atleast) about this guy who was saying that everybody either forgot about the dauer or didnt know about it. He was saying pretty much exactly what you are, Nortad

We werent talking about just any of the cars in the world. They are the fastest production cars. Those cars are one-off, or not legal for use around the owrld, and there not massed produced. But hey if you wanna talk about the fastest, what about the rocket car, 600 and something MPH.

Sorry about the link, I didn´t notice.
The Dauer isn´t a one off, it´s road legal, and anyone who could afford it, could buy one. I´ve seen about at least half a dozen of them, on the net, that, or the factory has changed the color, the interiors, and extras of the same car several times.
There´s one in the private colection of the royal family of Barain.
But maybe your right, since isn´t road legal everywhere because of the exaust emissions.
But then you´ll also have to say that TVRs are one-offs, since they are illegal in the U.S.

Well no, i miss-worded what i said. What i meant was, those cars are that fast unmodified. But the TVR's are fine cause they come from the factory like that. But the battle is between any factory, non-one off car. Not heavily modified as well.

Ok, I understand.
But the Dauer isn´t a modified car, at least from my point of view.
Theywe´re built from scrach by Dauer, only using mechanical parts from Porsche.
Even the race versions that raced we´re mostly developed by the teams that entered them in the races, than by Porsche.
But, in the end doesn´t matter what I say, officialy the CCR is the fastest, those are the rules of the game.
