I have a question. If you dont do this then this thread is not for you. I have nothing against muscle cars or there owners at all. But i dont see why ALMOST every muscle car guy has to act like a fag when it comes to a import. Cant we just all agree that they can both can be fast even if one takes more to make it the same speed or power? I have never seen a muscle car guy ever say something good about a import! Weather or not its fast. Whats the deal with that. If i see a fast muscle car i respect it and give the guy probs. But it never works that way when it comes to imports. The import guys all are mostly like this. They dont talk shit about the muscle cars its them that talk shit about the imports. Its a new age now and imports are getting faster now with all the new technologies, but for some reason if i show a vid of a 8 second honda or whatever to a muscle car person they either say its fake or its the 1/8 mile or make up some dumb ass excuse for why its not fast. I think is just because they have been told there whole life that imports are slow and cant be made fast and they never got a chance to see a fast import so it kinda surprises them when they see one. I get in arguements about shit like this everyday with people. Why does it have to be like that. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM! Maybe its just the people i see and know that act this way. It also seems the guys that talk the most shit are the ones with the v6 cammaros and v6 mustangs the real weak domestics and think a import would never be fast? So ill ask them to race my "gay ass" import then and they make up a excuse! Again im not saying anything bad about muscle cars or there drivers i just want to know why its like that. i agree with you, but people who like imports (i didnt say ricers) have had their fair share of smack talk againsts domestics.

Yea i know what you mean too, import guys talk shit too, but not near as much as muscle car guys do against import people.

I see a similar problem but from the import side, these guys (not all of 'em, just some) seem to think that anything american, or pushrod v8's, are complete shit engines. They look at the SBC or SBF as an outdated junkyard POS, thats ineffecient as hell. They totally ignore the fact that SBC's can be quite cheap and powerful, and probably has the largest selection of aftermarket parts in the US. Everytime one of these guys run out of things to argue, they have to bring up the arguement "my engine makes more hp/litre." I'm sick of hearing that arguement! I could care less if someones engine makes more hp/litre, if it still only makes 160, and needs to either rev to 8000rpms+, or run 20psi+ to hit 450hp, it's just not as capable of an engine, regardless of number of valves or cams or technology. I'm not trying to bash on honda's or anything (they are EXCELLENT motors), just saying that just because a SBC has the same amount of valves as the 4 cylinder honda's, doesn't mean it's shit. It's still capable of plenty of power, and loads of torque. Lingenfelter made a 50state legal 800hp small block powered corvette, I doubt 2.0 is gonna break 450 and still be smog legal in california.
I'd like to mention I like all types of fast cars, mostly the stuff that is inexpensive and still quick. the SBC is a damn good motor, it's strong, cheap to build, and plenty of parts. Honda b series engines are awsome motors, while NOT torque monsters, they can definately hold a wide as hell power band (peak hp at 9000rpms, and peak torque at 3500), and it's damn reliable. 4g63's are pretty damn nice, so are SR20's, nissan RB2x's, 1jz and 2jz engines, 13b, 20b, the list goes on.

In my book, anything that is fast (fast IMO is mid 12's or better), and still a good street car is a sweet car. I could car less how it's powered.

BTW, I think part of your trouble, is u have to get these domestic guys to the track, since they refuse to believe the video's. but if all they own are v6 stangs or camaro's, and come up with excuses as to why they can't race, then they are no different from a ricer IMO.

I agree with you man! I see your side and can completly understand. This is how muscle car people and import people need to do things. Both agree that they can both be fast in different ways. I actauly help friends with muscle cars build up there small blocks and stuff. A car is a car and i love working on them weather its a v8 or 4 cyl.

ok it doesnt matter what you have 4 cyl, 6 cyl, 8 cyl no need to bash. as long as its done right you can make power out of anything. as long as you dont cover the car in stupid stickers adn obnoxiuos body kits. eg. if you cant do 200mph then why do you need a 3' wing. it could be a cavalier or a supra, doesnt matter, make all the power you want, out of whatever engine. people have their opinions and are intitled to them although some express them aloud ( and some are in your face ). i for one saw and experianced the death of street racing where i am all cause of the imports out here. back when an import was just a fart can tip and a loud ass useless radio and subs and alarms going off at the meets befor the races, brought the cops down on us hard, and cause the cops knew the imports wern't the fast ones so they cracked down on the old muscle. kill the races all together. but now the table has turned and at local meets the cops bust the imports and don't even look at my domestics i drive,i'm kind likeing it now.

but i for one don't like the imports cause i hate working on the damn things. sure there are some fast ones but {i guess this will be concidered a muscle car guy type comment} i could build alot more out of a domestic for the price. but thats my opinion and i'm intitled to it, just like you are to yours.

lol, i mean "domestics" Yea muscle cars are cheaper to work on and easier considering they have so much room. Imports are more expensive and a pain to work on some times because of all the new electronics crap they have on them. But those electronics like the standalone ecu's and piggy back systems like hondata, uberdata etc, plays a huge part on a import making big power.

One thing I don't get is comments like the one above (not hatin on you or nothin). Imports do have a lot of electronics, but llok at any engine today. They're all run by complex electronics. My 96 Cherokee has ECUs available for it and such, and that thing is pretty basic... The C6 comes with active suspension and selectable traction control modes (that actually work!). Every car these days is full of electronic gizmos, not just imports.

Hey guys we all know anything can be fast. You can compare this and that, but what it all boils down to is green. And how much your willing to spend to get it there.I have seen everything from a Jr. Dragster that would make either a Domestic car cry or a Import car cry. And getting beat by a 8yr old girl would be pretty sad. Even seen crazy lawnmower's and snowmobilies do the same.There is no 4 cycle nor V8 in them.Its all lack of respect and the old saying " cant say something nice, keep it to yourself". Most of the time people run their mouth's ahead of time before the cars are on the len's or at the light. Its all mind game's , and all people get pissed due to them. If people just got to the basic's and not be a **** about anything, then there wouldnt be these problems. But we all dont hug trees and hold hands. We all have different ideas no matter how you look at them. I have talked smack myself, but growing up around a dragstrip will do that, they dont call them grudge matches for nothing. But when the race is over Ill show my respect to the winning car. Normally make alot more friends that away instead of getting pissed off and making a enemy. Alot of the younger generation doesnt understand this has been going on for years and years. Especially when someone thats been around longer trys to tell them something from their own experience and all they get from the other end is comment's like " yea mmmkay,sure,whatever" I know what Im doing I dont need you to tell me otherwise.
