HAHAHA. Thats the first story i've heard about defects in America! Down here the cops like to pick on young guys with nice cars, and fine them for things like exhausts being too loud, wheels too big, having a dump valve/Blow off valve that vents to atmosphere etc etc. They make a fair bit of money out of it too.

how can you say that and say that you like cars, the lifestyle of all cars import and domestic, is about expression, free will and that is what he wanted to do. That is why the cops can pull you over saying that your spolier is too big or exhaust is too loud. its ****ed up, and nothing but bullshit. hell a new law here in texas says that you can't have ANYTHING on or around the licence plate. that means no bracket or anything. and that is Bullshit. i say f em all.

Just got done talking to the wife, she's a cop, and this is here take on it. Any vehicle that is not an emgerency vehicale can't have any blue lights, as long as the red light can't be seen from the front or side of the car its ok. The loud exaust noise veries from state to state but all states have a noise law for this. There are laws for the wing too, also veries, but it has to do with X% of the drivers view being block by it. This goes for the front windshield too. Hope this helps clear some of it up

I do love cars and I do understand that modding them is about expression. But if it is not safe for other motorists that is a different story. If the 2 foot wing blocks his view out his rear window and backs over some guy while backing down his driveway and kills him you can not sit there and say that is ok because he is expressing himself with his car. I do not go by what I do not like, I go by what is safe to other people. They have laws to protect people, even if they sound f*cked up. To me there are two laws. The letter of the law which is exactly what the law says and the spirit of the law which is what the law is ment to prevent. There are reasons for the law in Texas, but they took it to the extreme by saying that no one can have anything on their plates, that law is ment to prevent people from preventing law enforcement officials from reading their plate number.

Well I got one for u guys. When I was still living in Los Angeles California me and my brother went cruising in his Suburban. He had the music on blast when all of a sudden we got pulled over. To make a huge story short, we got a ticket for "SOUND POLLUTION". We were looking at her like what the hell. N-E ways yeah he had to pay $120.

it goes like this if you drive a ricer everyone knows you race...

there is no law about how fast you reach the speed limit but if it is unsafe or if you are a ricer there gonna give you a bullshit ticket...

its really not bullshit at all... you do the shit to look like a street racer... your gonna look like a street racer...

you look like a street racer, your gonna get flak from cops because however safe it may seem while you are street racing with your buddies, it kills people and cops know it... so they are gonna rack your balls about it untill you take the shit off your car...

Actually there is a law about how fast you accelerate even if you dont break the limit. Its called recklous driving or exhibition of speed.

I wouldn't be surpised if he was being a **** to the cop though...they usually pick out stupid things if you talk back or what not to them.


Though down here in NJ, the county cops are real pricks. My uncle got pulled over in his work truck(Siearra 2500 with a cap). He bought it off someone else and didn't get done pulling all the advertisements off the truck(He got the phone number off and he had passed inspection), cop wrote him a ticket for not having commercial plates. All they ever do is pull over contracting trucks.

just jokin, i felt like being a ****. i can understand the whole visibility thing, the exhaust, but the blue lights is a little skethcy. here we get tickets if we have any underglow unless its not being used on the road. the only exception is amber i think

ok well i have gotten every ticket in the book you can thing of..even a 48 hour inspection cuz the cop said my suspension was to low...

i've gotten, for lisence plate cover, soundsystem (disturbing the peice), exhuast, tintied windows, back lights, back lights missing reflectors, front lights, front lights issing reflectors...

but the funny part is my car when through a full inspection and the car passed flying colors..

not thing is for the exhaust, yeah if its loud then he could get a ticket...there is a certain decible that an exhaust should sound..if he surpassed it then yes the ticket is legit..he how ever could contest it and say its legal if he goes to have the exhaust checked out.

now for the wing...yes if it covers his visiblity then he could get a ticket.. jsut liek the sticker in the windshield it has to be a certain dimention not to block visibilty..

and for the final one of impersination a cop tell him he can contest the ticket as well..cuz impersinating a cop the lights would have to be flashing..but to be more sure of this i would say to check it out with the DOT they would know more...
