That's right, I went and spent some cash last night on a Samsung 46" LCD HDTV
1080P 3 HDMI inputs, PIP, and soon will come the surround sound, time to research those now. and yes, my kid OWNS me, he watched cartoons till it was time to go to bed......then I watched monday night football.

What made you go with the samsung over the sharp aquos? Im still havent pulled the trigger yet on getting mine.

I went w/ the Samsung because of 3 reasons

1) the best price of the 46" sharp aquos I could find was $2499.00. After the sale price of the 46" samsung and a mail in $100 rebate, I got it for $1465.28 w/ tax.

2) Samsung is rated just as good

3) Samsung will have replacement LCD bulbs out by late 2008, so they will be in the same boat as sharp by then .

Yes, I went ahead and called dish network and upgraded to the HDTV receiver and DVR combo, it will be here in a few weeks, until then the digital signal from the dish network dish look surprisingly good.

Playing Madden 08 looks really good, and I bought Superbad and will be watching it tonight.

good info. the cdn dollar is at par with the american dollar right now, but they havent changed pricing yet to reflect that yet. Both the samsung and the sharp are both around $2000. Those two, plus the LG, are my top choices right now.

when you plan to get a surround sound system, def check out the bose systems...you will be amazed on how good the quality is, sounds like 20 speakers all around you

add a Polk Audio sub and your house will fall down lol...ours shakes every couch in the house when watching a action movie

a good tester movie for new stereo systems is Top Gun....our house nearly fell down from the sub...
