2 kills this weekend 4 me

Yup that's right, the ol' Z/28 strikes again.....twice in one night.

1st race, 3 runs. Me and my car, mods in sig vs 1990 ford ranger w/ a 351W swaped motor. All three runs from a different roll speed (his choice not mine, I had the DR's and he did too but didn't want a dig run) 45 roll to 120ish = me by 6-7 cars, 2nd run 55 roll to 130 = me by 7-8 cars, 3rd run was from a 25 roll and I only won by 3 cars this time.

2nd race, 1 run. Me vs new WRX STI. Dig run in which I launched at 2200 rpms on the street and he launched probably near 4000 rpms or so. He did hole shot me, but not by much ( maybe 1/2 a car) but I easily walked his ass down and by 100mph I was 5-6 cars ahead and pulling like a freight train.

good runs, no traffic whatsoever, and cool dudes to race against.

nice kills. I had a few this weekend too. I raced a 1987 bravada from a dig, was ahead like 3 car lenghts by the end of the intersection. Grampa fell asleep i guess. Then a 95 neon sport. This one was close. I mean woah. From a 35 roll to 75 on to the intersection. Oddly enough they never looked at me once. I think they were racing the semi that was in the slow lane since we were both merging onto the highway. F*ckin ricer...

I find that when racing wrx's, if they arent ahead by at least 4 cars ahead by the time you get to the top of 2nd, they're usually toast.

I had a funny "kill" this wkend. A newer jetta rolls up next to me on the highway and keeps egging me on to run...I wouldnt normally waste my gas on a stock 15-16 sec car, but this guy was asking for it. So I tell him to go first and he thinks we are "racing" now. He speeds up to 140 (kph, not mph). I blow by him on his left move two lanes over, tapped the brakes, let him pass me, slip behind him blow by him again on the left. After I "ran circles around him" 1 more time, he got the point that I could pass him at will at any time and there wasnt diddly he could do about it so he gave up.

HAHA he had probably just got a new intake for his 2.0 and read in the advertisement that it gave him 30 whp.

Not sure if it was the turbo motor or not. Doesnt chipping them give you a 40 hp bump???

i raced a new jetta turbo in my truck once i did the swap.. it was some gangster kid driving it.. but ya long story short i pulled in every gear from stop to about 60.. go chevys

was it a mk5 (06+) or mk4 (98-05 i think)? even if it's the new one, and he's got basic bolt ons he's only at about 250 to the wheels, which is less than the lt1s came with stock right? plus he's wrong wheel drive. I hate when people think their vws are racecars. I have a buddy with a rabbit that's mechanically identical to my jetta, he talks about corner weighting it and turboing it and I want to smack him, then buy a real sports car and embarrass him. Sorry for threadjacking and going offtopic btw.
