ABC News: Teen Crash Driver May Have Been Texting

Text messages were sent back and forth on a 17-year-old girl's cell phone moments before her sport utility vehicle slammed head-on into a truck, killing her and four other recent high school graduates, police said Friday.

Bailey Goodman was driving her friends to her parents' vacation home when her SUV, which had just passed a car, swerved back into oncoming traffic, hit a tractor-trailer and burst into flames. Five days earlier, the five teenagers had graduated together from high school in Fairport, a Rochester suburb.

Goodman's inexperience at the wheel, evidence she was driving above the speed limit at night on a winding, two-lane highway and a succession of calls and text messages on her phone were cited by Sheriff Phil Povero as possible factors in the June 28 crash in western New York's Finger Lakes region.

Too bad for them. Has to be 1 of the dumbest things u can do while driving other than reading a newspaper

i dont even check who is calling/texting when i drive....**** them, i aignt gonna crash my car again lol

Guilty, but I try to keep it reasonable. Also I drive down the road that accident happened on all the time, that whole area lost power because the flames burned through the lines..

Project - 1986 Mustang LX convertable 3.8 with a 3-speed auto...a couple years later, we'll call it a 1990 GT convertable 5.0 5-speed with the following mods: lunati cam, 3.73 gears, 2.5 inch exhaust (minus cats, plus flowmasters and some headers), stock e7 heads with some porting and bigger valves (powerheads.com). Tubular GT40 intake, 24lb injectors, bigger MAF and TB. Roller rockers (1.6), under drive pulley kit.
