I dont know shit about cameras but i want one thats strictly video. and if it takes still shots thats good.

but i dont want it to have a tape if thats possible so i can edit all the video on my computer. and it has to have night vision mode too.

i spent around that on a camera a little while ago i got panasonic pv gs-35 its has mini dv tapes, i was trying to decide between this and a sony, i choose this because the battery last longer than anyother ones. the pitchure quaily is really good in ligght, but whens its dark it tends to have some trouble. i havbe no found a night vision feture on it yet but it has a light. it takes decent pics, i bought a memory card and it holds a shit load have pics , it takes them fast too:thumpup:

mine works on the computer to u jus to a firewire or what ever to plug it in to the comp. its the video camera i used to tape the skittle movie

Having no tapes isnt a factor for not being able to edit/transfer film to your computer

they even produce usb 2 AV wires for easy transfering, and its all about the software you are using (pinnacle studio9+Hollywood FX is a great combo) but if you lazy and want stupid easy just use Windows movie maker

I on the other hand am looking for one of those huge VHS recording Camcorders (the kind you hold over your shoulder) and i cant seem to be finding one !!!
And they are awesome because you can choose recording speed, and set pitch and everything, and you can put i gigantic spot on it as the battery pack is like 10pounds

On the long run, i'd tell you get something on mini DV as you can store all your stuff on tape instead of keeping everything on your comp

good luck buck!
