Default how to build ESP's

Hey guys i wanted to know if anyone knew how to build an electronic speed control (controls current debit) on a RC. I had a ceramic one made with a resistor but it burnt down, and im too lazy to go buy one since i feel its a total waster of money (50$ for one that will burn after about 50-60 uses).
I know how to solder so its not a problem, and the content i found online is B.s.
thanks fOolZ

40 turn on a tl-01m it used to be 4wd i converted it to rwd and its lowered to the ground (1.2-1.4cm from the ground)
it used to have a ceramic ESP and it just got so hot the ceramic crumbled like a cube of sugar under pressure.

o u got a TL-01, i sold mine, why would u put a 40 turn motor in it? id say just buy an esc, itll be easier, and very simple, cause if u dont u would need all the plugs and stuff, but take the one u have apart now, and see if theres just a blown cap, or something that could be replaced

Oh no, the entire ceramic has crumbled like sugar, theres the crusty connectors that used to go inside... i actually was just now thinking of redoing the "ceramic" but with lead but i dont know the exact characteristics of the material and dont know if it would be effective, and like i said, im not sure i want to buy one as they always burn down after a while
i put a 40 turn because it had a 28-30 turn motor stock i believe.
its still cool to play around with (the rc) but theres no speed control so its all out all the time!

I have great acceleration with it, almost as good as my "deceased" Rc10gt running on almost 90% methanol with bored out engine....
r.i.p. Monstreous Violator

but it depends on your gearing setup also... Im contempt with my engine.
