Default Skyline GTR Kit Cars LEGIT???

Hi,

Our vehicles are deemed as kits and as such do not require the epa and dot paper work that would be usually associated with importing a skyline. You not also need to have nhtsa approval or and guidelines and rules provided by the fmvss do not apply also.

All our kits are legal in 49 states except california.

In regards to pricing there is a guide in the kit section of our website www.skyline-imports.com which will give you an indication of pricing for the vehicles themselves. The price will vary dependant on model , ei R32 GTR, R33 GTR R34 GTR and if V-spec or not.

In regards to making road and state legal you can either do this your self or we can do the process for you.

Once the vehicle is assembled you would then need to have th vehicle inspected by the local state patrol to confirm if road worthy etc, emissions tested (does not apply in all states so please check your state laws) and the title obatined from the dmv.

We can assemble, inspect and title etc for an additional cost of $3000.00

If you have a model you wish to enquire about further then please contact us with the model required and your budget and we can provide pictures and details of what is available from our japanese stock that is within your budget.

I hope this answers your questions but should you have more then please do not hesitate to ask.

Kindest regards

Robert

sounds to good to be true. i'm sure if that was teh way to go many more people would do that because then they can modify it how they want right of the bat. i would wait to see maybe check out some other skyline forums and see what they may have or have not heard about it.

still a no no in my head. if u want a cheap skyline move to japan...

ok here is the low down from what I have gathered from friends that have actualy done it this way...

basicaly they dismantle the car over in japan the required 10% (which is mainly the engine and transmission removed and crated/ put in trunk) and import it

then when over here and through customs which then is labled a "kit car" they reassemble it and take it through the inspection process that a Kit car goes through to be legal to drive and in which is then titled as a Kit car

the downsides to doing that is trying to get financing for it cause of the kit car label attached to that and also insurance is an issue for the same thing

but it can be done and has been done for a long time now and is a legal loophole of sorts

one of the guys I know has a R-32 GTS-t rwd skyline and I have seen it so it can be done

plus it being titled as a kit car will diminish its value and ur hopes of re-selling are screwed imo
