As some of you know I am getting a corvette for graduation. However I was just informed of an alternative. My dad said he would probably spend around 10 to 13 grand in cash for a C5 vette probably with 50 to 100,000 miles. Or I could get a 2006 Cobalt SS instead financed at a dealership. Now naturally you would think take the vette, BUT I have to pay for insurance and gas and this would be my main car. So I am asking what do you guys think I should get the C5 or the SS?
factors include: gas mileage, insurance, winter driving, performance, cost of mods, sexiness Please help i can't decide what would be better |

That blows ur dad only likes chevys. if ur gonna go cheap and get a cobalt, you might as well just get an 07 aveo and aftermarket it. they dont look that bad and come with a shitload of features for like 13 grand. then just spend 7 on a turbocharger, body kit, wheels, etc.

maybe get an RS camaro (i believe they made some with a v8) and build it up, from what i've heard you get pretty good insurance rates on them
EDIT 97 was the first year for the c5 so i figure u might encounter more problems than a 98 - 04

Why not take the 10-13K and build your own car. You can laugh at vettes or any other suggestions mentioned. Im sure an older camaro, nova, chevelle, mustang body etc etc. Youll have your own learning experience plus the feeling of pride since you made it what it is. Plus you dont have to shell out payments every month and insurance will be alot cheaper.

Alright you primitive screw-heads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart! |
