So i was hanging out with my friend and we were cruising around in his dads 89 wrangler. Its ok for an old jeep, condition wise, and its got a 5 inch lift with 35's or something. Anyways, so i was thinking that this wrangler didnt really sound like some of the other wranglers that i have seen before, and seeing that it was the first time my friend had taken his dads jeep we really didnt no that much about it. Anyways, we take it offroading and it did great, but when we came down a hill we hit a huge bump. Then we started hearing this scraping noise. It wasnt bad but it was noticeable. So we were panicking a little bit becuase its his dads jeep.
Anyways, we stop and pop the hood................ As soon as i see the engine i fall over laughing. In this 89 jeep sat a 1995 Chevy 3800 V6 from a Camaro.......... Both of us were like WTF??? So we bring it back to my friends dad and he said that the jeep had come with that engine.... BTW i am still laughing. So his dad took it to the garage were the guys laughed him out of the building and then said that because its a V engine instead of an Inline engine it didnt have proper spacing and when we hit that bump something moved a little bit and started rubbing the firewall i think. Anyways its pretty much the funniest thing i have ever heard. But my main question to you guys and to my friend was... Can you get a Z28 Camaro engine in that jeep or any wrangler? that would be sweet! thanks for reading!

no i have not.
there are very few old jeeps where i live, and for that matter, there are very few nice cars around where i live. It seems like everyone is into jeeps but all my friends have older (95-2000) V6 Cherokee's. its weird. And yes there are a bunch of newer wranglers as well.

most any small block will fit, there is a company called transdapt that makes engine swap kits for alot of makes of vehicles, Jeep being one, check this http://www.tdperformance.com/pdfs/37...ap%26Heavy.pdf

love the way u express urself rob, i had a good laugh...
and yes rob is right as the I6 goes, and yes u can fit anything into a jeep, im back and forth w/ a inline stroker or a 99 4.3L V6 w/ trans swap, not sure yet, but this is in the future... ![]() damn i miss my 89 YJ too, drove year round w. no soft top or hard top, just a bikini top to keep the snow off the radio and controls... ![]() Last edited by mv420xx; 18 Jan 2006 at 08:37 pm. |
