When we debated the Stang vs STI on another thread and I point out the "tire factor" it was "tuff" for the USA manufacturer.

Anyway, never heard of Jap cars limited to 112mph, but dont doubt it from your posts.
My guess if it were limited to 112mph, using the "120mph" manufacturer estimate, it probably hit that speed at the 1100ft mark, leaving 220ft left for it to accelerate, and would shave 3 to 4 tenths off the 11.67 sec 1/4mi time.

HUH...the car in the vid was a JDM car.not a american market car.(ADM) car.we will see what a ADM car does when they release a ADM model..

the stang vs scoob test vid was both ADM(admit it got owneed) cars.when the GTR comes to america it wll not be speed limited..so all that laughing u was saying about the GTR being limited has bitten u in the ass lol

Arn't you guys aware that the Japanese laws factory cars have speed limiter of 180 km/h (112 mph). That black GT-R has Japanese factory speed limiter of 112 mph so on the quarter mile run it banged against the speed limiter before it hit the finnish line, that's why the trap speed was only 111 mph, don't you guys get it?! The car could have done ALOT better then 11.67 if it wasn't for the stupid Japanese factory 180 km/h speed limiter..

This 180 km/h speed limiter only applyes for Japanese spec cars inside Japan. The US spec version GT-R will have different speed limiter, if I'm not wrong it's going to have 150 mph speed limiter..

BTW that black GT-R in Australia is Japanese spec GT-R imported, that's why it has 180 km/h limiter..

Respect where respect is due, one thing I will give Nissan credit for is atleast they're trying, is the GTR gonna outrun a ZR1, not likely, but atleast they're trying to build something exciting, that's alot more than I can say about the other Japanese manufacturers, like Toyota, they don't even have the Celica anymore for f*ck sakes, or Honda, an S2000, shit, the only thing an S2000 is safe from are other Hondas, or Mazda, the RX8, a 14 second car with the torque of a weed whacker, and how about Mitsubishi and Subaru, a couple of souped up econobox grocery getters, fact is the Japanese car makers don't have many exciting cars currently, and Nissan's the only company that's actually doing something.

^^ This Nissan GT-R is their first base model lol! How was the Vette's C6 first base model as a car before the Z06 and the ZR1 came? Nough said.. It's the competiton to the 997 Turbo, C6 Z06, Gallardo, F430, R8.. NOT ZR1. The ZR1 is 100 horsepower class abow competing with the Carrera GT..

Hey I was trying to give Nissan some props, I hope you're not insinuating that the GTR is greater than a Vette, cause as a 1st base model back in 2005 when the C6 was introduced it was greater than anything Nissan was offering, in 2006 when the ZO6 came once again greater than Nissan, now after 5 model years of automotive engineering to catch up the GTR can only "compete" with a ZO6 while Chevy has already moved on to bigger and better things, maybe in another 5 years the GTR might catch the ZR1's shadow but until then Corvette is greater than GTR, and by the time that happens I doubt GM is gonna just sit still, enough said.

^^ haha I never said GT-R is greater then Vette, it is YOU who said the Vette is greater then the GT-R. Back in the 2005 Nissan never offered anything in the performance brand to compete with the Vette during the time and the Skyline GTR ceased the production long before already in 2002, what's your point? The problem is that you failed to see that the new GT-R and the ZR1 are two totally different class. I don't see automotive mags comparing Carrera GT with BMW M3, do they?

The GTR being governed has not bitten me at all as of yet, because it's still speculation that it was governed. the 11.67 1/4mi time is FASTER than previous results.
Until it is tested "properly" (not saying this vid was done improperly yet) we do not know. You voiced your concern, with the limiter issue and it's been acknowledged, but not proven.
We'll find out soon enough.
I give up debating you with the tire issue with the STANG VS sSTI, seeing as i'll never take your opinion or advice.

I think you missed his point.
However since the GTR & ZR1 are not out yet, nor is the MSRP we all will have to sit and wait.
When they both come out and for example, are similiarly priced than that will be a fair comparsion GTR vs ZR1.
But if the GTR is same price as Z06, than obviously they should be compared. Most likely the ZR1 will have a 100hp advantage, but if they are equally priced to bad for Nissan.
Can't wait to see them tested, they all will be bringing an a*s whooping.
