id same the civic would be more at home on track then a Z would be deffo.ive never see a 350z do well on a track.they weight to much.

Personally I think 350z's stock are over-rated. Yes they have potential when modded but there weight amongst other things holds them back.

Stock to stock? I dont think so. Weight (or lack of) contributes hugely to track performance, but I dont think you are giving enough credit to the 350's strengths over a Civic. Far wider powerband, more peak power, RWD, better brakes, softer compound, wider tires, better aero etc etc. Its a faster car, and for the extra cost, I think you should expect it to be too.
Look at how SCCA groups stock class civics compared to 350z's: 99-00, 02+ civic si's are in H-Stock, which means that they are deemed to have parity with the likes of Geo Metros, the Ford Focus, Hyundai Accent and the Toyota echo. The 350Z is in B-Stock, Porsche 911 Carrera 2's, BMW M-coupes, and Toyota MR2 turbos. http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Lists/2006/stockc.html Quote:

A civic may be the best handling fwd cars, but that doesnt mean that its faster than a 350z. Did you even look up any results from actual events before you said that the 350 isnt close to any of the other cars I named?
Here is one example: http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Sacrame...05/Cup/bs.html The point is, the 350z is grouped with faster cars than a civic because in stock form, it simply is faster. If the civic was faster, dont you think they would have moved it up a few classes? Quote:
