Hey guys, I don't know if you all remembered that I had a 91 4dr civic DX
. Anyways I could't find that many mods for it . So I decided to wait and see if any good Opportunities would come my way. Now I am proud to say that I am a proud owner of a 1992 NISSAN 240SX . As a mater of fact I'm picking it up tonight . The reason why I'm posting this is because I would really appreciate any tips on mods that would make my 240 fast with a bit of mods. |

Common swaps in 240SX's are without a doubt an SR20DET (NOTE: only 1 turbo) THe SR20DET is a 2.0L engine with an aluminium block, Dual Overhead Cams, Electronic Fuel Injection and a TURBO ![]() They are rated at about 207bHP stock and kick ass in 240SX's. These swaps cost about $3,500 - $4,000 for the engine, tranny and installation or cheaper. Another option is to keep your KA24 engine (2.4L engine came stock) and TURBO charge it. Many companies make TURBO kits like Greddy and HKS which will push out nearly 300 - 400 rwHP and since these engine's are mainly for trucks (frontier) they have TONS and TONS of torque and are very beefy motors. TwoForty is right on the dot... head on over to those website's and you will know everything you need to have a sweet ass car.

Damn ya asses know a shit load about the 240SX. I got the stock KA24DE engine in it. It was rebuilt like 3 monhts ago. It feals great but I dont know if that will cause problems in the future if I put some mods in it. I was also wondering about what TREMEK said "free HP". Can you please tell me abit more about it? I'm planning on making my ride legit, you know a mean ass sound system at least a roll cage and some not that expensive mods for the engine. I've only have had 4 days with it and I'm in LOVE with it already. If I can I'll post up a pick of it. It needs a bit of interior work but I'm planning on changing the whole thing in the months to come. Oh yeah one last ? how much horese power does this engine of mine have. Thanx once again guys. If any of you live here in Phoenix Arizona hit me up.......

it has 155 HP and 140 ft/lbs of torque. if your engine had a full rebuild 3 months ago then you will be fine! free HP means adjusting things on the car to gain horsepower but your not really gonna find any of that on your KA. if your looking to make more power for for a new intake, headers, hi-flow cat and cat back exhaust. KA are known for torque so you can go to about 3" on a N/A KA and still be good then i would say port and polished head would be good. quality plugs and wires will help. a new ECU. a VSLSD. it just all depends on the path you want to take! the most logical path for me is upgrading the suspension before i add power!
but i beg you PLEASE dont put a system in the car! a 240 is a sports car that should be made fast! |
