Cloverfield *SPOILERS* (so dont get pissed off. you dont wanna know, dont read)

Saw it last night. Basically it's all shot from this one guy's camera by this d-bag Hud. This other guy is going away to japan and a bunch of people are suprising him with a party at his place and saying thier goodbyes (hence the camera). Then the shit hits the fan. Now, i'm not sure if the monster is called cloverfield or perhaps its the military name given to the incident or what but we'll just say its the monsters name.

This thing is kicking everyone ass and the military isnt even putting a dent in it. BTW, it is this huge maybe 30 story tall 2 or 3 legged thing (one might be a tail but its so hard to tell) that is majorly pissed off about something. Perhaps he's more pissed off at scotsdoge than we are, idk. Falling off of cloverfield are crazy ass biting things about the size of a kinda big dog. You get bit by them and something happens to you. Not sure what but the one girl in the group that did get bit started bleeding from her eyes and the military guys in hazmat suits took her away. they go behind a tent and it either looks like they shoot her or her head asplodes. not sure.

Hate the way this ended although my girl was right with saying that if they had lived or killed the creature or explain wtf cloverfield is and were it came from you'd be like "yeah right" or "figures that would happen". The end was completely sudden and kinda threw you off since you're expecting more.

I'd give it 3.5/5 for being unique but not great

Yea, i just saw it, and i thought it ****ing sucked. The previews made the movie look amazing, but it was a huge let down. They didn't explain anything about where it came from, or what it was. I think the military made it or something but they didn't say shit. You could never get a decent look at it because it was so big and the ******* filming the whole thing was definitely retarded. I thought the end pretty much sucked since there wasn't any shots of it getting nuked or any explanation of how it was killed or if it was killed.

1.5/5 for originality and decent special effects, i wouldn't recommend waisting $10 on it.

I think it was great. I'm glad they didn't do the whole "wrap up all the mystery in one scene" crap that most movies like this do, when some scientist or expert spouts off and gives the audience all the info.

It was a "godzilla" type movie, pure and simple.
The whole reason to watch it is for "right there in the thick of it" style of the filming. It gave you a real sense of being there.
I saw it at a digital threatre and it made it even better.

My wife got motion sickness 10 minutes in and had to leave, so if you're that type, then don't bother.

Unless you have a big screen and surround sound at home, don't bother waiting for the DVD if you have any interest in it. You need to see this in the theatre to enjoy it.


EDIT for additional: This movie has a trailor on it for another movie made by the same people (Bad Robot), for a new Star Trek movie, supposedly beginning with the construction of the Enterprise.

I saw it last night, I didnt think too highly of the movie, but heres what I got out of it:
1.) In the last scene there is a faint view of an object falling from the sky into the ocean, so its an alien creature
2.) The thing is hella ugly, 4 legs and a tail
3.) It drops small spawns that look like a minatureized version of the big guy, and if you are eaten by it, you die, I think you explode
4.) The people that are in the movie are a bunch of dumb ****s, they are running around aimlessly for the first half of the movie
5.) I thought I was going to see the guys hot girlfriend naked, and I didnt, which was a huge dissapointment.
6.) I really think that the military's reaction would have been a lot more prompt and forcefull

I give it a 3/5

yeah, I agree with ya, Dave. I read an interview with the director saying that this thing was just a baby and this was it's first experience on land or something. It was confused, angry and disoriented and the things that it drops are apparently parasites. the monsters doesn't "produce" them.

They were all dumbasses indeed and we should've seen the hot ***** naked. Glad that ass hat Hud died at the end but wtf did the creature do to him. It was lookin down at him and then the camera went all shaky (more so than the rest of the movie) but he didnt get eaten yet died. so many holes in the story
