The reason it'll never work in our countries is cause of the system already in place - doctors are treated like royalty instead of public servants, which is what they originally were.. even in parts of Africa there have been massive rallies held by the medical professionals AGAINST doctors coming from other countries who are volunteering to work in the places the local city doctors won't go to because the local city docs think it will ruin them and bring down the prestige of the profession - where's the duty of care in that?!?!? Being a health practitioner should be a noble position, not one of power and wealth. Our governments have failed us but there is too much money at stake now to make the needed changes.
