Default New Truck '02 GMC

Brought this home this past Saturday !

2002 GMC Extended Cab 4dr Short Bed SLT
Very clean, has a few scratches and a couple door dings, but it is 8 years old.
Leather interior in great shape.
Slim fiberglass bedcover.
Power everything.
Tinted windows with ventshades.
5.3 L engine
95,000 miles

Plans:
Things to remove:
1. Faded pinstriping
2. Chrome fender trim
3. Chrome door molding (not sure on this one)
4. All decals and badges
5. Bug-guard
6. Front vanity tag that is bolted on
This will start once we get some decent weather so i can go outside

Suspension and wheels and tires:
3"-5" drop or a 4"-6" drop depending on wheel size, new shocks
18s or 20s, gonna go by a local rim shop and look at different sizes

This will happen once i sell the '77 C-20

Definitely ditch the moldings, they provide shelter for all kinds of dirt, moisture, etc... and then result in rust, and they look like shit imo. If you're lowering I'd go with 22" wheels, I did on my 03 Silverado and found some all season Pirelli tires (scorpion Zero) that impressed the hell out of me in snow, rain, and dry. Congrats on the truck! Also, the 5.3 responds pretty good to mods, I'd reccomend an intake and tune at the very least, you won't regret it.

Yeah after taking out the ventshades, install a grille guard lol.

Seriously though, it's a good find. It's a neat and good looking truck. Update this thread what happen when all the mods you planned are all in place.

Been looking at all types of lowering kits. DJM has got some great reviews and ive installed a few kits before and the DJM kits are good quality.

4/6 Drop Kit

4" Front and 6" Rear

Drop control arms in front and flip kit for the rear with a 'c' notch for the frame and shocks.

Gonna keep lookin over the weekend and hopefully order something by the first of the week.

Well, got my truck lowered this weekend! I put the lower control arms and shocks on the front friday after i got off work. Then my buddy Jeff from work came over Saturday morning and helped me tackle the back.
I'll post some pics of the installation later, but here is a before and after pic:

I have to get a new left side leaf spring bolt from the chevy dealership in the morning because we had to cut the original one off. There is no other way to get the bolt out unless you remove the gas tank and that wasnt happening.

It looks like its lower in the rear than the front, its from the way my driveway is. Once i get the new bolt installed and get the front end aligned ill get some better pics.
