Default I stole a car today

Well, not really, but I needed a daily driver so I went shopping.

My requirements were
#1 Fun to drive but not a sports car, that bill is already filled
#2 Discreet, something the Vette is not. My Red Vette earned me too much attention from local law enforcement. I got alot of "have a nice days" at first, but eventually they came knocking on the door telling me to tone it down. When I asked who had complained, the officer said "everyone in the county".
So, it had to become a once-in-a-while car, not an everyday car.
#3 Good gas mileage. I wasn't looking for a prius, but something around 30mpg.
#4 New enough to have a warranty
#5 At least above average on the cool-scale. I'm not ready to step so far down as to buy an accord or a camry.
#6 All-weather capability. Good enough to drive 40 miles in mild-medium snow.

This is what I found, and talked them down to $14,300

05 Volvo S40, 48k miles, manual trans, sport suspension, 17s, 6 disc changer
Certified Pre-Owned warranty to 100k.

My short term plans are to debadge the rear, some medium tint, and a stiff rear sway bar.

I had a sunroof in my first Subaru. I don't think I ever opened it except to flip someone off behind me when my left hand was busy holding my cell phone to my ear.

....that reminds me, I won't have to do that any more, because I'm getting the hands-free bluetooth option to route incoming calls through my stereo system.

Change the rear sway bar to an older model bar from the oldest s40 you can find (its the strongest) dont ever put the cheap ass endlinks that are stuck on there with that retarded torx30 and 15mm key, but go with heim links that you can make yourself to the strenght you want.

Its the crappy mitsubishi engine thats in those models, so if something major fux up, dont go to volvo for raping, just dsm that shit!

Thanks everyone,
I thought about the black rims, and they would look nice, but that would go against my idea of blending in. I want it to look nice without being memorable, and more specifically, describable. I want a layman to not know what it is, or be able to describe it, other than to say "a black sedan".

Black wheels stand out.

HKSevo, its a 5 spd. I found myself twice already wanting to shift down from 5th to 6th on the highway.

That's not to bad. I drive a 10 speed Triaxle roll off container truck everyday.
Jumping in the vette going home always throws me off for a few minutes. complete opposite, those pulling off from uphills kills me each time with using the clutch and gas pedal.

the big truck pull out with clutch and brake

Mod #1 done

Debadged the rear, and got rid of the "Annapolis Volvo" license plate frames.

Mod #2 done

Removed the silencer from the intake, ugliest one I've seen yet.

(the edited license plate it just to try out an idea, I'm no photoshoper)
