Here are the really nasty rusted out spots on my Samurai, this project is made extra fun by the fact that I have absolutely no ****ing clue what I'm doing. I'm basically going by the haynes manual for everything, so the body work is going to be interesting, I have an electric arc welder so It shouldn't be too hard, unless I kill myself.

It will be really really ugly, I decided to try it out on my mom's gazing ball stand (just in case she needed stronger welds to hold a polar bear with it or something) and she got mad at me for it.

arc welder might be a little much for sheet metal, even more so when you don't know what your doing. but for shits and giggles, if your mom was pissed about your practice welds on her gazing ball thing, weld her doors shut on her car, she will forget about the gazing ball.

You shouldnt re-use the same gasket, specially for the ridiculous cost of it.
If you want to clean the inside nice and clean, let it sink in gasoline but in a closed container so the vapors dont go! Nice to see people undertake projects and take care of their rides! Did you notice Haynes tells you to unplug the battery before you do ANYTHING on the car?? ![]() If you want to clean the engine bay nicely, use some "SIMPLE GREEN" but mix it with some warm water, spray it all down, use a kitchen brush and scrub that sucker! All the fugly gunk will flex and you'll be happy as simple green did 70% of the werk good luck, and keep us posted!
