I wanna go FAST.... cheaply (88lx mustang)

ok so i just bought me a mustang FINALLY, its only been about 3 years. but i finally have one

So in about a 3hour period from recieving an email from him saying he still has it im at his house test driving it. in its earlier days it was a 4cyl lx. which has been converted to a v8. so that means swapped out trans, rear end (8.8"), fuel lines, and a bunch of other crap i dont feel like typing out. the car does need some body work, and a fresh paint job, but i like how it is i could care less how it looks, it looks like a worn out 4cyl mustang, with no signs of a v8..... that is until it is cranked




This Project will be updated regularly, im gonna be building a street/strip car Cheap, meaning getting parts like gt40 intake and heads ect from junkyards off of ford explorers, and electric fans off of a taurus or something. i will be posting timeslips from the 1320 with mods done to see progress, if insured this week, ill be down to the dragstrip this weekend or next

it has:
-2.5" exhaust with Flowmasters (dumped)
-BBK Longtube headers
-Edelbrock Carb
-Wieand Intake Manifold
-Ford racing springs in the rear (fronts are still new in box)
-3.73 gears waiting to be installed
-Holley blue Fuel pump

to be done:
-GT40 Cylinder Heads
-1.6 Roller rockers (and other misc valvetrain equipment)
-E303 Camshaft
-Strange 10way adjustable shocks
-Short Throw Shifter
-and a bunch of other sh*t, after all this there will be a poweradder of some sort.... Junkyard turbo setup, peice together a supercharger kit, or just put on some Nitrous. who knows

Awesome, how much did it cost you? Is the gt40 intake manifold better than the aftermarket one on it? What year did they go to fuel injection?

the introduced fuel injection in 85 or 86 but it sucked, and most prefered the carb, it became the only thing used in like 87, i wasnt even paying attention when i typed in the gt40 manifold, i forgot it was a carb, and it already had the wienad, so just forgot i said that. i paid 1900

thanks everyone, my dad used to paint cars back when he was in highschool, and after, but he quit, but my grandpa has a paintbooth and everything still, so my dad gonna give him a call today, and i got a week off of school in 2 weeks, so we may be headed up to Tennesee. ill get good pics today in daylight, and an exhaust sound clip

yup all that thing needs is a paint job, a clean up of the engine bay a bit. maybe some rims with some wideass tires and your good.
