Took the carb off the truck today, with a little help



It was easier for my boy to get in there than it was me

Here's the old Quadrajet




Gonna take it to work tomorrow and pick up a rebuild kit for it.

haha i love the old trucks there so easy to work on... i can't get in my engine co, but my friends all have 78-87 trucks and they all just climb in there engine co and work on them...

Got the carb rebuilt and got it set on today. Gonna finish it up tomorrow and crank her up and see how she runs.

Got the carb put back on and got it cranked up. Need to do some adjusting but it did crank up on the first try

Got the timing set where it should be today, 8 degrees advance and got the idle set around 760 - 800 rpms. She idles nice now Still has a little popping in the exhaust when you let off the throttle, but it could be the old ass exhaust system
