Well, as you saw in the "for sale" thread, the 81 is out, the engine was taken out aswell as the tranny. The point was to make the 1980 manual.
Here are some pics of the progress. so much junk
![]() ![]() so much room without anything :P (we were considering putting a small block in it )![]() ![]() Blue! ![]() "test" engine with the flywheel clutch assembly, love how its polished :P ![]() prepping to put back the manual tranny and the engine ![]() We then go f#cked by the rain so we crammed everything in the garage ![]() and went off smoking some drugs in the car ![]() ![]() ![]() So the tranny is back on Today, the engine is dropped in, we painted the valve cover, we have DUAL carburator waiting to go in, the manifold and exhaust are done, today we will be rewiring most of the sh1t, and connecting the clutch wires, speedo and all that junk...

We also need to redo the area where the shifter is, as the manual tranny sits a little bit closer to the front. We need to paint the drive shaft also which we put back. the biggest step remains adjusting the Dual Carburator for ultimate performance. Also, change of spark plugs, ignition coil and whatever else we can get our hands on. I will be posting more pics tonight and tomorrow of the progress. This project took till now, about 10grams of weed, 48 beers, and lots of funking grease on clothes, lots of medical gloves also.
But it is fun as hell, its really easy as hell, we dont have any "special tools" the only thing is the engine Hoist whatever its called, the big jack thing to raise the engine (as the previous engine was taken out by HAND!) hahahaha Cheers b1tches.,

this is a torque converter, all autos have one.
![]() and how can you mistake the speedo? like stat said, 140 kph top speed, if you can even reach that.

But with the dual carb it should do about double its power with the exhaust line, the dual carb is a Weber with all the tight little goodies, rad is rebuilt to insure ultimate cooling, im pretty optimistic about the result, keep in mind, the car with the AUTO tranny weighs in at 900kg, so with the manual tranny, i would easily say 825-835kg, so almost 200hp on a little sh1t box like that, guarantees good results ![]() Torque converter :P all i will say is that mother f*cker is heavey as hell, the manual tranny is like 3-4 times lighter than the auto tranny ![]() Quote:

Well well well. Yesterday we installed the valve cover, plugged everything and fired up the engine
alls is goods :P But we did it with the original carburator. Today we need to go get a clutch cylinder as the other one snapped We also need a new throttle line as the other one got cut All the fluids of course, we need also to drain the brake lines for bubbles (the clutch works in parrallel with the brake master cylinder) And we will try to install the new Weber Dual Carburator if we have time. The amount of beer we drank till last night is scary, we had at least 85-90beers and i dont even know how much boudha we smoked. I will get a sh1t load of pictures today (i just didnt bring my camera yesterday+had no batteries) Hope you've enjoyed this sh1t till now more to come at the end of the day.
