got me Clayton Arms Today, sanded down the arms and gave em a fresh coat of paint, look like new

Also got stearing box brace and clayton crossmember wich are not pictured

a little update

spent a couple days last week grinding down the mounts, they came out pretty darn good




friday i called up clayton and got a hardware kit for the arms, wich came in today, got the mounts bolted to the crossmember, and will be bolting the crossmember to the jeep shortly, arms wont be mounted yet as i dont have acsess to a welder, plus i havent installed new bushings in the johnny joints and i still need to order axle end bushing

i havent cheaped out on anything, i actually sold some brand new parts to get better parts

now as far as motor goes, right now a tired 200k 4.0 I-6 with a nice rod knock, but i have a healthy 4.0 waiting to go in, and to help it breath a little better i got a K&N cone filter, better flowing intake manifold of a 1999 Cherokee, and a Flowmaster 50 series delta flow, the transmission is a stock AW-4(same internals as a Turbo Supra) wich will get a manual overide, and transfer case is the stock NP-231 wich is getting a complete rebiuld and a slip yoke eliminator kit

just got the crossmember in, 20min job took 2 hrs cause the trans shifted back a 1/2 inch so with some massaging from a prybar all is set



BTW thee a case of beer waiting for someone to show up with a welder and weld up the mounts for me

now time for beer and fried chicken

i forgot couple key items, rear axle will be a Dana 44 out of a 87 Cherokee, it will receive a Spool and 4.56 gears, the frt axle is a Dana 30 wich will get 4.56 gears, a aussie locker and alloy shafts, those will be turning a set of 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ's
