U should be more specific about inport drivers. Us rotary guys are awsome. But we hate pistons so.

those rx-7s werent very modded at all, viper is a viper, nad that is a hella built 2jz in that sc300....

and i disagree about the 2jz owning the 13b..... a 1.3 liter that can do a near 200mph with a few mods isnt to shabby, sure the 2jz can do that as well but its a 3 liter motor, its nearly triple the size of the sevens motor... ive had my rx7 doin 180 @7000 rpms... i have 1500 revs left with only a 5 speed, the supra has 6 gears and hit around the same top speed

cliff notes:
rx7 has 1/3 the motor of the supra and one less gear and it goes just as fast if not faster

areodynamics, weight, and powerband have to do with top speed. Cause my '70 Olds. Cutless Supreme could do 180 mph, and that may have 4 times the motor but it also has 4 times the weight, no areodynamics, and it had a 4 speed automatic, so does that mean that my Olds. rules your Rx7?

I hate when rotary fans bring up a displacement thing. They are two totally different combustion principals so you cannot directly compare them. It's apples and oranges.

Considering you can swap an LS-6 V-8 into a 3rd gen RX-7 and have it weigh no more than with the 13b, what the hell advantage does this small displacement afford you? It sure isn't fuel economy or reliability.

The weight of a car has basically no influence on top speed. Horsepower to the wheels, rolling resistance, and aerodynamic drag are basically the only factors.

With that said, that Olds must have had a ton of power.

Yeah, subies suck on the highway because of poor drag coefficient and AWD drag.

It was pretty quick, I would eat a '82 scottsdale w/ a 4-speed, 350 (with a mild rebuild), and 3:73s in a race from start to finish, not bad for highway gears.
