Just to throw a bit of personal experience into this one... A few years ago Skip Barber Racing had a deal with dodge so that we had dodge engines in all the formula cars and used SRT-4s for our pace/ride around cars. Needless to say, we spent a fair amount of time beating on those SRT-4s. Since then the Dodge contract has expired and we now use Mazdas instead (still have the dodge engines in the back of the racers though). Around a road course the MS3 just feels so much more "put together" than the SRT-4 did. To me it feels like they use stiffer bushings in the Mazda. The Mazda's track width is also significantly wider than the SRT-4's (60.4" vs. 57.6" front and 60.0" vs. 57.7" rear), which ends up meaning that the Mazda doesn't feel like it rolls quite so much into the corners. Both are great cars for the money, but the Mazda just feels that touch bit more like it wants to handle instead of fighting you through the corner. Don't know if its actually that much quicker, but its more fun to drive in my opinion.

Oh, I was referring to the S/C'ed cobalt.......that is ALL I have ever seen, I know a turbo version ( 2008 1/2 ) was to come out, but I have never seen one roaming the streets yet, or at the dealership that I live 5 min from.

My pushrod staightline mentality will own you on the streets or the track, whooops....my bad you own a "mazda website" you must be a god.
Man, you are like talking to a brick wall. I wasnt claiming to be a god. I was merely saying that I am much more familiar with the car than you are. Whether that be in a track, street, or on paper type of situation.

But, you ownz me man... My bad for even speaking my opinion.

Go do a search for Nurburgring lap times SRT4 or SRT4 Neon lap times or something to that effect. I dont recall exactly what keywords I used. I will tell you this though, I found the SS and MS3 lap times much faster than I found the SRT4 lap time. But, if you look, you will find it.

It should be expected that the Mazda MS3 should feel better on the track, as it's cost is much much higher than an srt4. You talking about a 19,000 budget racer vs. a 25,000 pocket rocket. That 6,000 difference means alot in the quality of parts used. Plus, the dodge was not originally designed to go to a road course, it was purpose built.......beat up on the imports on the drag strip/street racing scene, whereas the mazda, being of higher quality and more cost is an overall more well rounded car, but at a cost.

srt-4 vs msp3 at the track and on the street its a driver race both car make the same time but the msp3 is a little bit faster past 200km/h

they does aproximatly the same on the dyno 220whp stock

the msp3 respond well to little mod because of the direct injection ive seen one with only a downpipe intake and mbc making 290whp but the cost for the downpipe is crazy and if you want more it will cost you 1 arm and 1 leg

the srt-4 is cheap to mod and used part are everywhere

stock for stock msp3 are way better in corner then dont have a 5 year old neon chassis

and the msp3 are 2008 and the srt-4 ceased production 3 year ago
