Theres a chance the engine was rooted so it may have been no great loss. I don't really see why it was so stupid. Admitted I wouldn't have done it but each to their own. My old 12a was smoky, hard to start etc. It wasn't worth rebuilding it (even me doing it myself), everything was very worn, so something like what this guy did may have been a fun option. (I ended up killing it on the track)

Theres is no chance a rotary, even one with lightweight rotors, steel or carbon seals, 2 piece shaft, etc, would ever run to 15000 rpm!! thats just absurd!!
