wait wait wait...SOHC v-tec? i thought the whole v-tec system was based on 2 different cams :wtf: I like the new civics though. FINALLY the US will be getting an almost 200hp SI

there are a bunch of single over head cam vtec motors like the 3.0 cl and the 3.2cl type s.The vtec runs off of 2 sets of cam lobes not 2 cams.

Uhh yeah. It's like having 2 cams at once. Cams with big duration and big lift are inefficient at low rpms, velocity is lost. If the car is tuned properly there shouldn't be any pickup in acceleration. If the cam crossover is set just perfect the torque curve should have no dip, and should normally only gain a few more ft-lbs later on in the rpm band, in an NA car.
