Jay Leno's Garage
He hits the nail on the head at the 5 minute mark when he talks about Corvette vs Exotics, what makes his opinion count more than the average guy is that he is both into cars and can afford any car in the world (and owns shit like Mclaren F1's, Lambo's, etc) and yet he has a huge selection of Corvettes in his collection, funny, I dont see no rice in the garage.

Nice vid it's about time people just stated the TRUTH about the car.
You can test it for a day, rave about it, but then what.
That's one thing I never understood about Exotics, odviously they look amazing but as Leno says about them "the cars can't be driven like they were intended"
Leno was going diss Road & Track and othe magazines about, how they test/ report the tuner cars, which implies that they are misleading but stopped and added Porsche to what he calls you can drive, beat on them,and modify them inexpensively.
I dont think doing any work on Porsche's is inexpensive compared to the Corvette, but compared to Ferrari & Lambo it is.

good find, Leno is the ultimate CAR GUY. He almost has one of everything. Plus, he knows his shit and is funny as hell.

jay is right about the corvette best bang for your buck, that is until the new GTR comes. the ZR1 is coming but so is the v-spec GTR it goes on and on?

to ukunt: yeah, he's made most of his money from that "crappy tv show" but he's also been smart about how he invested his money. He also commissions custom cars (in the sense of purely custom, from the ground up) on a regular basis from people like Chip Foose. I believe he may also hold a Bonneville salt flats license from when he's run some of his cars flat out at the top speed events. In addition, he's a graduate of the same driving school I work for, Skip Barber (granted, he went to the Laguna Seca school and I work on the east coast but still).

135 million dollar contract for that "Crappy" tv show he has, that was a 5 year deal too.. and hes been doing it for 25 years..

As for that crap show, he made all his money for buying cars before he even got that show. He said once that he is going to put away his "Tonight Show" money and not touch it. He made it big as a standup comic first.

Ok, the Vette may be the cheapest, but that's also what makes it less adorable.

Don't get me wrong; the Corvette is most definately a great car, but you can not say exotics aren't... They are just soooo "$$$$"

OH MY RICE, all you ricers are only setting yourselves up for disappointment, once the GTR actually does come out and doesn't live up to the hype, like most imports, once dressed up with nice body work and wheels you'll have ricers flocking to it, but against the Vette, the GTR better be bringing more than just a pretty dress to that party.
