I'd rather have the Z06 over the S2000.

You sir, are a wise man.
You can make an s2000 fast, but you have to realize what compromises come with that feat. I have a friend who was looking for recommendations on a car and I suggested a used c5. He ended up buying a s2000 with a ultimate racing turbo kit, AEM standalone + other mods. Cost him about 60k cdn, which would have bought a MINT MINT c5 z06 and left about 15-20 k in mod money. So what he got was a car that is about the same speed as a stock z06 (his car ran 12.6's @ 116, yet is is less reliable (it spends more time in the shop working on tuning issues than it does on the street), gets wwway worse fuel economy (something like mid teens mpg). Even he admits that he wish he gone with either a stock c5, 996 carrera or s4 instead of dealing with the hassles of a turbo system on high compression n/a motor. |

some people like to build a sleeper car.weather they have to rebuild it once a year or not.they must just have to much money to burn.or just dont like the look of the other cars as much as the one they modded.

Sure, that might be the case.. but personally, if I had to put up with the hassles of rebuilds, tuning gremlins, poor mileage etc, I want to blow the doors off of whoever im lining up against and not just being even with them. My friend has more money than the average person, but not enough to have a fleet of nice cars to drive if the s2k goes down...
While on the topic of subjective things, I think it would be a tough case arguing the looks, sound or exclusively of a s2000, which in my mind isnt much more than a drop top civic, against a pure sports car like a 996 porsche or corvette which 60k easily buys. |

im sure your friend didnt know he was going to spend 60k all in on his s2000.like alot of dont when they buy a car and start modding it/
unless he bought it for that price allready done.if so i also think its abit silly not to pick a 996 porsche over a a honda as well |
