i understand it spins through 1st and second but damn what a difference in the way the car stands when he hits 3rd. but most people see it the same way i see it after someone mentions it. i still stand convinced the vette could have passed it sooner than it did in the movie. it just looks way too much like he was holding back in that movie

This is what happens when you just jump on the throttle all the way, right from the get go. It's like pissing in the wind. Just like what would hvae happened of that guy floored in first and second gears.

i think it would be easier to notice if you look at the headlights shine pattern on the road, not at the lights themselves.

lol im not argueing with you, but i still think the vette was holding off for a second. i dont think any amount of explaining is gonna change my mine about it, i know exactly what your talkin about, but thats not what im seeing. you hear the tires spinning in 1st and second, then the car hesitates for a couple seconds then it takes off.
like i said, its not just the headlights im watching, its the way the car stays the same distance back for just a moment before it takes off and passes the DSM

K this happens all the time. 1st gear the vette has nothing and got pulled 2nd gear it has a little more traction then stops the pull, 3rd gear it hooks and goes and passes

. Had this have been on a drag strip it would have passed sooner but it is the street. That is how i see it. i may be wrong though. It would take about 2 seconds to go through 2nd in a vette like that if you think about it.
Also, maybe he normal shifted from 1st to 2nd then power shifted to 3rd?

1st the vette has nothing cause there is no traction, same as 2nd, the just burn through the tires if you pound it too much. Third gear, there is a wide enough gap between the gearing so that it can gain enough traction to pull.

typical race, AWD owned it off the line, then the vette had to reel him in.

nvm, dont bother asking lol i understand all that, you dont understand what im talking about. no need for arguement. this seems to be the 1st place ive ever seen that vid that people didnt see the same thing im talking about. maybe its something in the air here.

No kidding man. It's easy to see. The DSM will pull 1.6 second 60 foots all day long. The 'vette will do 1.9 or so at best on street tires. As said, the DSM will take the lead with the 'vette playing catchup.

I have no idea what this Spin guy is talking about. I'm guessing he's never driven a high powered 2wd car on street tires.
