fair enough. a driver cant know how hes doing on an individual stage, but he knows if hes behind overall, how much so, etc.

I haven't said that yet in this thread but yes, I think nascar is boring as all hell.

I will make a concession, and me saying this would stun some people (I usually am a die-hard F1 nut), but F1 as it is, compared to 3 years ago, sucks. it was the pinnacle of motorsport until 2003ish. now with all the crappy regs, messed up qualifying (it used to be INTENSE, with one-lap miracles in the closing minutes, and the drama of wether or not a driver on a hot lap would get help up by someone else, etc, now qualifying sucks), and ridiculous engine and tyre rules, it kinda sucks

they never do ovals... closest they come is Indy, where they only use a quarter of the oval and the infield

thats one thing that in my mind puts them above NASCAR and such, they race in almost anything

If the chance ever comes Nascar will race the road corses in the rain. But on the oval's it's just to dangerous in the rain for a stock car.

I remember seeing a vid of a guy going up into the fence on a street course and getting killed. I think it was a f1 race.
