Default Most exciting 3 laps in motorsport history

Here is the link to the F1 of Frances, where Gilles Villeneuve and Rene Armoux battle it out in the last 3 laps. Just look how agressive villeneuve is in the underpowered Ferrari. This clip is INSANE

i duno, some of the Prost/Senna battles were pretty intense, and some of the older races had some pretty intense drives...

Yeah great video, I've seen it before but deffinatly a keeper

I've followed F1 from my teenage years to now and it's a real shame to see F1 now with very little overtaking, lack of passionate drivers who keep battling like in this clip and to top it all the cars are nearly 2 seconds a lap slower this year and with 2.4L V8's being used next year it will get even slower, what's exciting about slower cars?

i agree completely, F1 is dying due to dumbass tech regs and crappy ideas about how to 'fix' what wasnt broke to begin with. Schumacher dominated because he is the best driver, and has had the best car. end of story. changing regs so others dont have to step it up is just dumb. also, lowering the bar is never a good thing. EVOLUTION, not back-stepping, is what makes racing good.

I agree whole heartedly. Regs shouldn't be changed to allow the others to catch up to Schumacher. That is their problem, not his. He IS the best Driver EVER, no argument. Everyone is always scared of the best though and always try and find ways to bring them down

Also, anyone able to pick the circuit that was on?? I tried my hardest, but the circuits have changed in my lifetime, let alone 26 years ago before I was born.

Iīm probably mistaken, but Spa, maybe?

Anyway, that "lets-make-them-slower" all started when Senna died, and those stupid tires with cuts in them.
And Shumi winning everything tdidnīt either, but he is the damn best driver ever, maybe not the most exciting to watch, but the best quite sure.
But just thinking that in the mid80s F1 had engines up to 1400-1500hp, and now all they will be are 700-800 is really sad. :banghead: :mecry:

it is exciting to watch Schumacher, just when he has competition. also, while grroved tyres arent do slow cars, it is insignifigant compared to the other regs. And saying Schumi is the best ever is, while i respect the guy beyond measure, not necessarily true. Fangio, Nuvolari, and others, including Senna himself, have had amazing skill and nerve, just in different eras. Schumacher is without a doubt the best driver in recent years, but over the course of F1 history, comparing drivers in vastly different cars cant be done.

Thats what I call "driving". No sequential gearbox, no traction control, no on-board computers, no ABS..... just a clutch pedal, a shift lever, and pure skill... We can't find that anymore. Im not saying that no other driver is talented, I'm just saying that with all the regulations and "driving aids", who wins mainly depends on who's team has the biggest budget, thereby allowing them to have the best technology. I think the circuit is Spa.

Just my 2 cents

not Spa, and the cars dont have ABS or traction control. and put schumacher in an identical car and he will still take on anyone.
