I like Saabs. My mom has a pretty sweet 9-3 Viggen.

The new Saab 9-2x or whatever it's called is basically a rebadged WRX, same motor, same chassis, just looks like a Saab for a lot more money. I give Saab a big thumbs down for that! It's as if Saab R&D/design team was running out of ideas and coming up on their deadline, so they gave Subaru a call. They borrowed everything from them, put a Saab shell and badge on it, and called it their own. In my opinion it's the worst attempt at a re-badging yet. Subaru is still its own manufacturer (as far as I know).

Yep, and it's sad.

Saabs have always been unique in their design. To take a car that's 95% Subaru and call it a Saab won't go well with Saab loyalists.

They are doing the same with a Chevy Trailblazer.

You got that right, me and my family have owned saabs for ever. I have a saab 9000 cse my father a 9000 aero and my mother a 9-3 viggen convertible. Now all of those cars are completely unique. And saabs motors are the best I know well cared for they easily will surpase 300k miles(ask me how I know). I will never buy a saab that fell under the GM ownership, although the 9-3 did it still is a large percent saab. However this 9-2 and 9-7 imo are junk,

What i heard is that Saab "GM" wanted Fuji Heavey to make a car like the WRX for them so what FHI did was sent them everything to make a WRX wagon (thats my simple way of explaining it) and GM owns like 24% of Subaru but thats not that bad cause GM owns most of Saab and Ford owns most of Mazda and I know GM and Ford are dippin in other Manufactuers as well its just so they can try to be the best by using Japans new technology and gettin a lil piece of their $$ so they dont lose it all from the import market cause everyone knows Japan has better technology then America even though most are too afraid to admit it hell we would probably still be running around driving brainless cars with crap MPG and control if that stuff didnt happen
