Someone told me that streetracing has been around in the usa since the 60's,but as the rice boy I am i thought streetracing came in the mid 90's with imports!

anyone have any vids/pics from streetracing in the 70/80's

Its true, read up on muscle cars, its nothing new. Just more of a focal point now. I think the amount of attention it gets is retarted.

the old muscle cars started everything my friend. and if not the 60's even befor that i'm sure.

face it. we see civics and sentras street racing everyday in the news, on tremek, everywhere. even when u watch TV trailers of 2f2f, or if u decide to go to the theatres..... but the sight of muscle cars roaring is rare now.....

yup it is coming rare.but where i live we got fuel****(car club)with muscle cars,and some fast imports-2 supras,srt-4,and a 300zx but thats mostly all the inports there.

the muscle still race, it's just not in the news cause some moron starts a convoy of half a million fart cans reving at each other goiong to the races.

good thing about norway the fartcan guys dont race they just stick to the shows and think they are 2fast & 2furious

Muscle cars still race alot, it just keeps away from the attention. It matters where you go. My dad use to street race back when he was young. Actually, he still does lol.

You can still see my muscle car rippin' up the streets. Yea I deffinitly don't go to the main places to race. I cruise around find somebody that wants to race and we go to a nice out of the way straight road and race. I have been street racing for 5 years now (started when I was 16) and probably will even after I become a cop. Never got caught. Only tickets (2 tickets) were in my truck for doing about 20 over. And I got pulled over for leaving about 80 feet of posi (before I got my drag suspension) when leaving a car show and all I got was a verbal warning. And it started before the 60's, it started back when people started modding there '32 Fords and such before there was a thing known as a drag strip. Street racing became more popular back in the 50's so people started making drag strips. I don't know when the first drag strip started but I know it was in California.
