This scientific experiment proofs it:

The majority of the VW shows that ive been to have an engine blow contest. They put a flat 4 on a stand/trailer and you bet on how long it will run at w.o.t. The last show i seen one at, the engine ran for 5 minutes and never blew. They put a 100 shot of NOS on it and started again. Emptied the bottle and the motor lasted for 45 seconds after the NOS was all gone

Then it went!
End result-broke cam, 3 broke connecting rods, 1 rather large hole in case

I bet it would run for 4 minutes.

Looks to me they are both worn out pieces of junk. Not a good engine abuse comparison. Both were smoking more than Marek does....lol

i saw a engine blow up thing before they used one of those Ramchargers or whatever they are called the k carish looking el camino type pos things it ran for lik 15 mins at wot

My 57 bug fired up after i put a cup of gas in it and turned the engine. It hadn't been started for 31 years before that. It was used as a henhouse in a corner of a barn until the previous owner died and I bought it from his son. Can't kill an aircooled flat 4. Those things are marvels.
