2008 Turbocharged Chevy Cobalt SS around the Ring

According to GM's press release.. "In fact, the Cobalt SS set a lap record for front-drive sport-compact cars at the "'Ring," posting a time of 8:22.85 minutes – besting the previous record by more than 13 seconds."

Ahh...hate to break that oh so perfect spec sheet up, but the cobalt SS/SC was not turbo, it had a S/C'er on it.

who cares if it's faster, it's a friggin ugly ass, slow ass, cobalt....with a wing.

I think it's a new one for 08 with a turbo, the s/c didn't make anywhere near 260 hp.

Its turbo and I don't think it has a wing on it now

driven by who? witnessed by who? Best part is that it cant be replicated by anyone, the Cobalt isnt available in europe. And I dont think the american market is that interested in the Nur.

Its not hate, i feel that alot of companies, european speacialy are starting to pick up this treand of posting fantastic times on the nurburgring, talking about it in the press realeses, but never show any video of it or saying who drove or anything.

For example BMW usualy uses Hans Stuck to take lap records with their cars, and records it with the circuit people, so you know who drove it and the oficial timing sistem was used. Supercar makers usualy ask the editor from AMS, Herr von sarna to drive it too. But other companies like renault claim times for the clio rs and megane rs that other still havent reached with the same cars.

I figured as much lol there is vid of it running round the ring but in the wet timed I think it would be like 9.2x or something. If it can indeed run that thats hella impressive especially looking at the cars its faster than.

Still it looks good on the ring. I´d like to see if the rest of the big three are gonna also start sending their american market cars to the ring for development

boring...used to seeing fast cars on the ring
