That's bracket racing....

Streetracing is heads up, like what the show is about. But since they need to make it interesting, they add the car lenghts to make. It's the only way to make a show about 2 cars racing last 30 minutes.

ya but with lengths your making a big gamble, the person in front has that much less to go. also keep in mind that in this show it doesn't matter how fast a time you clock, the winner is the one who crosses the line first. take for example 2 guys go from heads up, one clocks in a 10.4 and the other 10.06 but the guy in the 10.4 wins cuz he crossed first. time doesnt start tickin till the instant you move from the stage, thats y u see people with crappy reaction times lose the race but they had a faster quarter mile time then their opponent. this show is all about reaction time and who gets down faster.

i read somewhere that during auditioning they were looking for a 10 second domestic to run a 10 second import, i guess the civic guy overestimated his car and underestimated the trans am, the guy with the trans am played it smart, he had two in the bag so he threw the next two to set up an easy win in the last race, cause if they were close, the civic guy will continue to ask for crazy lengths, i wouldn't even race if i had to give 25 lengths, you can't win, at 20' per length that's 500', you gotta run a 1/4 mile will the ricer only runs a pubic hair more than 1/8, you need an 8 second 1/4 mile car to win.

that trans-am runs 9s now, in the show it was detuned for 10s passes. The civic had a well-tuned engine, but with stock open diff, street radials, and sh*tty driver it had no chance

if that's the case, i have no sympathy for the loser, the trans am guy was straight up, detuned his car to run 10's so he's not cheating, if that fatso wants to be a ricer and tell everyone he has a 10s car then it's time to face the music, asking for 25 lengths, is that how imports race domestics, complaining about the problems he's having, what happened to the legendary honda reliability.

no sympathy ova here either, he was a bogging/grannyshiftn NOOB and deserved to get his car taken. That Honda is fast though with the right driver, one of the team members took it down the track after the show and ran a 10.93 which is pretty impressive with no lsd . He's soo lucky that the other guy was nice and sold him his car back:thumpup:

You Sir obviously dont realize what it takes to achieve 625Hp as you claim. Also the gentleman with the T/A is not in possession of the civic as you claim. The civic was sold back to its original owner the next day for $300. The original owner since then has sold the shell and transferred his setup in to a hatch.

The numbers that you suggested are way, way out of reach for a stock GSR cylinder head on a 1.8L block. At 25 PSi or even 30psi for that matter. A stock GSR head does not have the potential to flow enough air to produce such high numbers. The head would have to be extremely ported and very aggressive cam's would have to be used. The head would also need to be fitted with over sized valves and, all the proper hardware to go along with it. Even with all that you still wont be anywhere near the 600hp mark. 25 psi on relatively small turbo as was used in the civic would never produce enough CFM's to create such power. If a large enough turbo had been used, that was capable of generating such high CFM's need to create such power. It would simply be impossible to spool up with out any spray or, reving to 9,000 RPM's. Also if you noticed that a S-AFC controller was used as their tuning device. Taking that fact alone into consideration, should make realize that it is down right impossible to tune a 625hp setup with such inferior tuning device.

The car as well as the owner were a total joke.
