wouldnt the awd be a good bit faster off the line and about the same going down the strip therefor making the awd faster overall? i'm sure with the high performance and lightweight parts that the fastest cars would be using the drivetrain losses of awd would amount to considerably less than stock awd vs rwd....just my 2 cents

The GT-R skyline (the top of the line model) only comes in AWD.

Iv'e seen Civics run 9's daily

. this whole 88modell vs EastCoastJDM is just an argument of JDM vs USDM. Both sides can be fast, it just depends on how well tuned they are. I agree that there are alot of ricers, maybe more because of F&F (stupid fckin movie) but most of them are only doing it to show off their rides, and not thinking of performance like kids that put rear spoilers on their Fwd civics and tegras

. But still keep in mind that not all JDM tuners are ricers i.e. Ryan Woon's 1400+hp Supra and that run's 8s.
