Arrow Great F1 vid - Piquet vs Senna

Austrian GP 1986 One of the best overtaking manouvres ever

Nelson Piquet (White/Yellow car) tries to overtake a some guy named (Black car)

The victim? Some guy named Ayrton Senna

Misses the first atenpt, so he tries again...

"It was like making a loop with a 747" - Jakie Stewart

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...89&q=formula+1

The entry on the corner looked more D1 than F1...

Obviously your opinion, but that is a pretty big bloody call. The same can be said for many people in many sports, that if someone hadn't died or left the sport, 'they never would have been as good' or successful

Yeah. If you go to F1 dedicated forums that subject is always coming up. Senna´s fans turn him almost in a Messiah of Motorsports. He was a fenomenal driver, yes, but so is Schumacher on is own right. People just dont like to admit it.

Agreed, and then chuck names like Fangio, McLaren, Brabham, Prost in there as well and see what happens

Exactly, its like there was no Formula One before him. Personaly I have alot of respect for all (except Alonso...) but Fangio always seemed above them all. He got 5 World title back in the fifties when the cars were moving bombs, they raced in public roads w/stone roads and wooden bridges, and the last title he was already 46years old. I mean, that has to mean something.

Yeah, well, It definately does. I guess the old "He was the best of his era" argument, sorry, discussion, comes into it then as well. To be honest, it is almost impossible to compare them all, and everyone has their favourites whom they will stick up for regarless (eg, me with Schumacher, yet Senna is/was my idol)

Yeah I understand. Idol or favourite is something I really never had. Depends on the drivers atitude during the season and who his its rivals. I think I like old school f1 drivers like Brabham, Villeneuve and Clark, because since they are long gone I can keep some distance and enjoy memories instead of having expectations for current drivers.

BTW I´ve posted in the Automotive News section about Schumacher beating Sennas pole position record last Saturday.

Oh yeah, I forgot he was! LOL I think he was the last guy to show you cold slide a F1 car and still win races. Piquet had a smoth driving stile and Brabham powerslided the car, but still he took the title.
