Wow cops that can actually drive.. so surprising that they arent from pa.

Notice the stangs and maro's are in the back? Guess they didnt wanna have to worry bout lookin in the rear view makin sure the caprices could keep up.

But remember the long wheelbase makes it more forgiving and gives you longer to react than a short wheelbase lightweight car. Not saying it easy to drift a caprice but try drifting a stock ae86 then you'll understand what I am saying.

I know what drifting a short wheelbase car is like. I have a bmw M roadster (Z3) and it gets twitchy sometimes, nothing beyond easy though!

Back here in Portugal cops use BMW 330d and Imprezas WRC for high speed pursuits, they get their training every year at the Estoril circuit by the BMW driver trainers.

Yup. They replaced recently the old Imprezas Turbo by 05´WRX.
The old ones now are marked with the typical white with orange stripes and sirens on the roof. The BMW and WRX are completely unmarked, with inboard digital speed radar.

Some pics:

One of the old Porsches 928

The more usual Toyota Avensis

The E46 330d

Radar equipment

Also use unmarked Skoda Octavias and Audis

The new WRX´s

Everyone gets pissed off with them, because police brigade instead of educating drivers, makes traps for them. Its kinda stupid.
