I read it on car and driver, they said the car was untrackable, powerband was on/off and when the car started to heat up in the afternoon it gave lots of problems. The other Lotus they had there had a much better power combo. It had the RSX Type S engine with a supercharger.

That's insane, It proably has the same power/weight ratio as an Enzo or a Carrera GT

The new elise runs off the Toyota power plant not the Type S ( i believe you are thinkin of the ariel atom ) The new elise stock out of the box has 190hp for 1900lbs , and it handles like a dream. its the toyota celica power plant. You can S/C it no clue what the exact results are because i have not seem them.

lol 400hp in a 1900lbs car is insane , lol and you see that it spins cause of it. gg to the driver for stickin it out that long

The fock you contradicting me for man??? I said that the other lotus in the test has an engine from an RSX-S. I know that stock comes with the 1.8l toyota motor but these were tuner cars. One had the stock motor with turbo and the other had a honda engine with a roots type s/c making about 300hp/220tq. Check it out on C&D, good article. :thumb:

I watched the showdown on C&D TV. They said that the Honda-powered Elise was too loud for street use.

Yeah. I've been lifting for 7 or so years now. Its nothing that a bit of juice didnt help :thumpup:

i love the car.. but the driver is not good.. at all.. theres no point of a fast/powerful car if you can't handle it. He needs to turn car back into stock, and slowly work his way up cuz he obviously needs help.

Not to mention 400hp is a hell of a lot of hp in a car that weighs in @ 1900. Theres hardly even any weight to help the tires gain traction.
