Impressive but it would be better if they had gone back to the 3.5L like they were up until 1994.

F1 as been taken by a stupid safety paranoia, like thats gonna make the race more interesting. I think they should stick to the V10´s.

Formula 1 cars are getting slower and slower, next thing ya know, moppeds will be faster.

No, its a F1 engine. Why do you say its a Champ car?

The new regulation for 2006 F1 says that engines have to be 2.4l V8 N/A or this seasons 3.0l V10´s limited to 16.000rpms.

Yep, the same happened in the 60's where there were road cars faster than F1's.. but back then they only had those 1.5L motors and stuff!

I dont know about current F1 engines being limited to 16000rpm, they regularly push 18000rpm+ this season

Top teams now do over 19000rpms, Toyota claims that too.

Next season, since some teams cant afford the development of a all new V8, they can still use this seasons V10, but the engine speed cant go over 16000rpms

Thats gonna make'em run like a boat because F1's have a very very narrow power band and is right at redline, thats why they have 7 gears...to always be in the power band, now if they can only do 16k rpms thats gonna hurt them a lot, but then again a 2.4L V8 is not going to have much more power, who knows?!?!

hmm interesting...

I know at the Denver Grand Prix this year.. the Champ cars were running turbocharged V8's!

Noo way they are downgrading the new F1 cars to the same size engines as the Champ cars!
