Just two days after every automaker on the planet took the time to blab on and on about their dedication to mother earth, Chevrolet has announced that the Grand Sport trim level will once again be available on Corvettes. Grand Sport Corvettes will be available in 2010 and will fill the performance and price gap between the base model ‘Vette and the hardcore Z06.



According to MotorAuthority, the Corvette Grand Sport will feature a wider body work, wheels and tires, as well as an upgraded suspension. The engine will be identical to base model Corvettes, but with the suspension modifications and gear ratio tweaks, the grand Sport will cut 0.2 seconds off the base Corvette’s 0-60 time.

The Grand Sport will also feature brakes from the Z06, which will be cooled by vents cut into the front fenders.

The 2010 Corvette Grand Sport package will be available in coupe or convertible body styles, but only coupe models with manual transmissions will get the full track setup. Stick shift coupes will be outfitted with a dry-sump oil system and a differential cooler to keep the car’s mechanical parts safe under heavy use, as well as a rear mounted battery for better weight distribution.

I think it's the best looking C6 so far, and it's got almost Z06 handling for as lower price, so I bet I'll see a ton of these in SoFLo in a few months.

Looks cool... I'm not really liking the intake opening in the front between the headlights borrowed from the Z06 (do like it, but thought it should be Z06 only)... they should come up with something new for that imo.

good thing you posted more pics memphis. i like it a but more but also thought the zo6's styling should be exclusive. can wait to see the look on grandpas face after i smoke him tho.

it should only be available as a hard top. blue with black wheels white stipe and orange stripes on the fender.
