Edmunds G8 GXP vs EVO X MR
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR vs. 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP Comparison Test
They liked the EVO much more, but why don't magazine comparisons ever acknowledge the fact that public roads aren't race tracks? It would be incredibly unsafe to drive either of these cars NEAR their cornering limit on the streets. So in the real world the G8 will perform just as well as the EVO, it will just be at 60% capacity instead of 50%. Before someone brings up the mountains in Cali, I know someone on this site wrecked on one of those runs, and if I remember correctly he wasn't even doing anything wrong, another car happened to be in his way as he went around a turn. On the other hand, people really do drag race cars, 99% of all the street videos here are straight line races. |
